Renued Living
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 2026
1. About These Terms
These terms and conditions apply to all quotes, services and work provided by Renued Living ("we", "us", "our") to you ("the Client"), and to your use of our website. Where you sign a written contract with us for a specific project, the terms of that contract take priority over these general terms if there is any inconsistency.
2. Quotes & Variations
- Quotes are valid for 14 days from the date of issue and are based strictly on the scope of work described in the quote.
- Any work not specifically listed in the quote is excluded.
- Additional work you request, or changes to the agreed design, finishes or scope, will be treated as a variation and charged accordingly.
- Variations must be agreed with the Client before the work begins. Variations may result in additional costs and/or an extension to the project timeline.
3. Contracts
- For residential building work valued over $5,000, we will provide a written contract and the NSW Consumer Building Guide before work begins.
- For residential building work valued over $20,000, we will provide a home building contract that meets the requirements of the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW), along with a certificate of Home Building Compensation Fund (HBCF) cover before any work starts or payment is taken.
- For contracts valued over $20,000, you have a cooling-off period of five business days after signing, as set out in your contract.
4. Payment Terms
- A deposit is required before work commences. The deposit will not exceed 10% of the contract price, in line with NSW legislation.
- Larger projects will require progress payments at agreed stages, as set out in your quote or contract.
- Final payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Invoices are payable within 7 days of issue. Late payments may incur interest and/or result in work being paused until payment is received.
5. Unforeseen Conditions
Renovation work often uncovers issues that could not reasonably be seen or known about when the quote was prepared. Our quotes exclude, and any additional work arising from, conditions such as:
- Damaged, deteriorated or non-compliant existing plumbing, drainage, electrical or waterproofing
- Rot, water damage, termite damage or mould
- Structural issues, including damaged framing, joists or substrates
- Asbestos or other hazardous materials
- Tree roots, blockages or collapsed pipework
If we find any of these conditions, we will let you know before continuing. Any additional work required will be treated as a variation.
6. Materials, Selections & Client-Supplied Items
- All materials we supply remain our property until paid for in full.
- Natural materials such as stone, timber and tiles can vary in colour, pattern and texture from samples and display images. This natural variation is not considered a defect.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by supplier lead times, stock shortages or discontinued products. Where a selected product becomes unavailable, we will work with you to choose a suitable alternative.
- Where the Client supplies their own materials, fixtures or fittings, we do not provide a warranty on those items, and any delays or extra work caused by incorrect, faulty or late-supplied items may be charged as a variation.
7. Warranties & Your Rights
- All residential building work is covered by the statutory warranties under the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW), including six years for major defects and two years for all other defects.
- Products and materials we install are also covered by any manufacturer's warranty that applies.
- Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW) that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Site Access & Client Responsibilities
- The Client must provide clear and safe access to the work area during agreed working hours, along with access to power, water and a toilet.
- Please remove or protect valuables, furniture and personal items near the work area, and keep children and pets away from the site while work is underway.
- Renovation work can involve noise, dust and temporary loss of access to some areas of your home. We will take reasonable care to minimise disruption and protect your property.
9. Clean-Up & Waste
We leave the work area clean and tidy at the end of the project. Removal of construction waste, skip bins and disposal of hazardous materials are not included unless specified in your quote.
10. Cancellations & Delays
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of scheduled work may incur a cancellation fee.
- Deposits may be non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has been scheduled, subject to your rights under your contract and the law.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by weather, supplier issues, council or certifier requirements, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control. We will keep you informed of any delays to your project.
11. Compliance
All work is carried out by appropriately licensed tradespeople in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards, the National Construction Code and NSW regulations. Where approvals or certificates are required, these will be noted in your quote or contract.
12. Project Photos
We may take photos of your project for our records. We will only use photos of your home in our marketing with your permission, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
